Jet2 issue urgent update for 2021 holidays and flights with some bookings cancelled

Jet2 has cancelled all holidays up to and including March 25 as the government's Covid-19 restrictions look set to continue.

The airline, which has a base at Leeds Bradford Airport, issued the urgent update to customers with holidays booked for 2021, as it becomes more unlikely that lockdown will be lifted before March 8, reports the Liverpool Echo.

The government has also tightened restrictions for people looking to leave and enter the country in a bid to stop coronavirus variants entering and spreading through the UK.

The airline has now clarified which trips have been cancelled and what happens next.

Jet2 has announced that all flights and holidays up to and including March 25, are cancelled and all holidays to Iceland are cancelled up to and including April 26.

Those affected will receive a full refund soon.

Due to the ever-changing restrictions and guidelines, Jet2 has also issued an update for those who have a booking after March 26.

A spokesperson said that an update regarding whether these holidays will go ahead will be provided closer to the time so customers are urged to keep an eye on Jet2's website.

They continued: "Due to the ongoing uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and government travel restrictions, we’ve taken the decision to extend the suspension of all holidays up to and including 25 March 2021.

"Please note, our holidays to Iceland are suspended up to and including 26 April 2021.

"If you’ve been affected by these programme changes, we’ll be automatically cancelling your booking with a full refund.
