Jet2 increases number of flights to Turkey and Greece from Scotland

Jet2 has announced additional flights to Turkey and Greece from Scotland amid a spike in demand.

The budget airline say that 11,000 new seats will be on sale to Scots as holidaymakers flock to both countries “in their droves”.

People hoping to jet off to Turkey will see more flights available to Antalya and Dalaman.

And those seeking sun in Greece will be able to take advantage of added capacity to Corfu, Create, Rhodes and Zante.

The firm currently operates flights out of both Glasgow and Edinburgh airports.

Passengers arriving in Greece will have to complete a Passenger Locator Form at least 24 hours before travel.

Failure to do so in advance could result in a €500 fine on arrival or Greek authorities not allowing tourists into the country.

A similar form will also have to be completed by Scots when they arrive in Turkey.

Anyone arriving back to Scotland from both countries is not required to self-isolate for 14 days under the Scottish Government’s quarantine exemption list.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2, said: “We are seeing a real spike in demand for holidays and flights to Turkey and Greece, and as usual we have been quick to respond to what our customers want.

“With more seats and holidays on sale to these fantastic destinations, along with some fabulous deals, there’s no better time to escape the gloom of the UK and reach the turquoise seas and stunning beaches of Turkey and Greece.

"We have been demonstrating our commitment to Turkey and Greece over recent years, as seen through our continued growth, and we are working with governments and tourist boards to strengthen and develop that commitment.

"We would like to say thank you to them for their continued support.”
