Jet2 has restarted Turkey holidays and flights and you can already book for half term

Jet2 and Jet2holidays have restarted Turkey holidays after the popular destination was one of eight destinations taken off the red list in a recent UK travel update.

The tour firm said it was "responding to huge demand" after it reported an increase in bookings by over 1000% after the red list changes were first announced.

Antalya and Dalaman flights and holidays resumed today (September 23) from nine UK airports; Belfast International, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, London Stansted, Manchester, and Newcastle Airports.

The holiday giant will also offer new routes from Bristol Airport, due to take off tomorrow, which will mean Brits can choose from 10 airports.

When we took a look, Jet2 had flights from £43pp in October outside of the half term dates. Meanwhile, Jet2holidays had packages from £543pp for October half term, based on a family of four staying for seven nights.

Turkey is currently open to Brits, regardless of vaccination status. UK tourists will need to complete an online form within 72 hours of travel, and also show proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before arriving in Turkey, but there is no self-isolation or quarantine required.

Meanwhile, face masks are mandatory in all public places - including streets, parks, gardens, markets, public transport, as well as shops and restaurants.

As for the rules when you're back in the UK?

Turkey is currently on the amber list. This means that any vaccinated travellers returning to the UK will need to take a PCR test on day two, as well as a pre-departure test. Adults who are not fully vaccinated will be required to self-isolate for 10 days and take a second PCR test on day eight.

However, the amber list is due to be scrapped from October 4, with countries placed on a 'red list' and 'rest of the world list'. As Turkey has recently moved, it's expected to be on the 'rest of the world' list.

This means vaccinated Brits will no longer need to take a pre-departure test when returning to the UK.

Later in October (no date is confirmed yet), they will also be able to take a lateral flow test on day two instead of a PCR test. For unvaccinated Brits, you'll need to self-isolate for up to 10 days and take PCR tests on days two and eight.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: "The resumption of our award-winning flights and package holidays to Turkey is fantastic news for holidaymakers.

"We are delighted to be recommencing flights and holidays to Antalya and Dalaman and to be taking customers once again to these much-loved destinations. Customers have missed being able to visit Turkey this summer, so the reopening of the country has resulted in huge demand and comes just in time for holidaymakers to enjoy some late summer sun.

"We continue to look towards the future with real confidence, as customers make the most of being able to get away and enjoy some much-needed sunshine."
