Jet2 have revealed that flights to Greece and Cyprus have been suspended until next year amid ongoing uncertainty around the Covid-19 pandemic.
Flights to the Mediterranean hotspots from Leeds Bradford Airport, and other UK hubs, will remain grounded for the rest of 2021 as travel restrictions continue to devastate the airline industry.
With England set to enter a month-long shutdown from Thursday, November 5, people will no longer be allowed to travel abroad, although Jet2 is telling customers they are operating a number of flights "as normal" until the lockdown comes into effect.
The latest update from the Leeds-based airline will affect anyone who had booked flights to Crete, Rhodes, Larnaca or Paphos for some winter sun.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Jet2 said: "Due to the latest government travel advice, we have taken the decision to suspend flights and holidays to Greece (Crete and Rhodes) and Cyprus (Larnaca and Paphos).
"We are planning to restart our flights and holidays programmes to Greece from 30th March 2021 and Cyprus from 13th February 2021.
"Where customers yet to travel are affected by any programme changes, we will be automatically cancelling affected bookings with a full refund.
"For customers in resort, we are operating a programme of inbound flights up to and including 8th November. We will contact customers who are currently in resort to advise them of their options regarding flying back to the UK."
The Jet2 spokesperson also added that due to the "fast-moving situation", further updates are expected in the coming days for other resorts and holiday destinations.
In regards to the forthcoming lockdown, the government have said that travel can only be undertaken for work purposes.
Official government guidance states: "Avoid all non-essential travel by private or public transport.
“Overnight stays and holidays away from primary residences will not be allowed – including holidays in the UK and abroad."
