A Jet2 flight from Alicante to Manchester Airport was diverted mid-air after disruptive passengers forced pilots to land in Barcelona.
Flight LS881 was halfway through its journey on Friday when the crew was suddenly forced to divert and land so police could intervene.
A Jet2 spokesperson said: "Flight LS881 diverted to Barcelona so that police could offload some disruptive passengers.
"The aircraft continued to its destination after a delay.
"As a family-friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive behaviour."
It is understood the flight eventually reached Manchester Airport around three hours later than scheduled.
It comes after another Jet2 flight was forced to make an emergency landing following the death of a holidaymaker onboard.
Flight LS676, travelling from Tenerife to the UK on Friday evening, had to divert to the Spanish mainland after a passenger suffered a fatal medical emergency.
The crew alerted air traffic control that a man onboard was in critical condition and needed urgent assistance.
The plane made an emergency landing at Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport, where emergency services were waiting.
Despite immediate medical intervention, the man was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival on the runway.
