Jet2 flight from Malaga to Edinburgh declares emergency over Scotland

A flight from Malaga to Edinburgh was forced to declare an emergency over Scotland.

The Jet2 plane was just 11 minutes out from the capital when the emergency was declared this afternoon.

The LS858 flight touched down in Edinburgh just before 2.20pm when it was due to land, according to social media reports.

It is not known what the nature of the emergency is at this time.

It comes after Emergency services raced to Glasgow airport today amid concerns of a package on board a plane.

The KLM flight , which arrived around 10am, was condoned off amid reports of a cargo spill with the airline later confirming a package packed in dry ice started to leak.

It contained glass tubes with vaccines which remained intact. Passengers were not in danger.

The incident was stood down at 1.25pm after the package was declared safe by emergency services.
