Jet2, Easyjet and TUI customers warned of amber list countries where you'll need to self-isolate on return

As international leisure travel has been given the go-ahead to resume on May 17, holidaymakers are scrambling to make bookings.

But the number of destinations available to British holidaymakers without the need for costly Covid tests and hotel quarantine, or self-isolation at home, is fairly limited as it stands.

The Government has divided up travel destinations into green, amber and red travel lists according to the latest coronavirus data.

So far, the Department for Transport (DfT) has announced just 12 green list countries where holidaymakers can travel without quarantining on return.

But the majority of destinations remain on the red list and amber lists - places which the Government has said should not be visited for leisure purposes.

Before returning to England from an amber country, passengers must complete a locator form and take a Covid-19 test for proof of a negative test result.

They must also self-isolate at home or in the place they are staying for 10 days. They will also have to take a Covid test on or before the second day of arriving, and on or after the eighth day.
