Jet2 doubles Nice flights after France finally ditches Covid visitor rules

Airline and tour operator Jet2 has responded to the announcement that France is finally ditching its long-running Covid restrictions by more than doubling its flying programme to Nice from some of its biggest UK bases. It has added a new route to Nice from Birmingham Airport and increased the frequency of flights from Leeds Bradford Airport for next summer.

Additionally, extra flights will operate from Manchester Airport for the Rugby World Cup in September 2023. The expansion means Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks are offering up to seven weekly services to Nice for Summer 23 and giving great choice and flexibility when it comes to reaching the glamour of the world-famous French Riviera.

With the Monaco Grand Prix taking place from May 25-28, 2023, it also means sporting fans will have even more opportunity to reach Monte Carlo for the most highly anticipated event on the F1 calendar. New services are as follows:

Birmingham

  • Brand-new and exclusive route to Nice, means up to two weekly services (Monday and Friday) between May 26, 2023, and October 16, 2023.

Leeds Bradford

  • Introduction of a second weekly service means the airline and tour operator have doubled their frequency to Nice for Summer 23. With up to two weekly services (Monday and Friday) between May 26, 2023 and October 16, 2023, flights are perfectly timed for holidaymakers looking to enjoy a long weekend on the French Riviera.

Manchester

  • Extra Monday and Friday services to Nice added from September 8-25 2023, means two daily services on these days during this period. The new flights are perfectly timed for rugby fans looking to travel to France for the Rugby World Cup.

The companies are offering a total of 56 sun and city leisure destinations from across its 10 UK bases for Summer 23.

Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Customers have been flocking to book Summer 23 fights and city breaks, with Nice being a very popular holiday choice for next year. As always, we have been quick to respond to this demand and have more than doubled our flying programme to Nice from three UK bases.

He added: "Our Summer 23 programme is already offering lots of choice and flexibility, and we are pleased to be expanding this even further. Nice is proving to be a much sought-after city break destination for Summer 23, thanks to its picturesque port, enchanting old town, and the glitz of Cannes and Monaco nearby.

"Given the Monaco Grand Prix taking place in May and the Rugby World Cup in September too, we are also anticipating the destination to be a huge hit with sports enthusiasts heading to Nice during this time. With holidaymakers flocking to book their getaways for next summer, we are expecting a very busy Summer 23."
