Jet2.com introduces new gluten-free and vegan in-flight meal options

When you're vegan or gluten-free, finding food you can actually eat during a flight can be pretty tricky.

But Jet2.com is making things a little easier for its passengers with a host of new vegan-friendly and gluten-free options on its in-flight menu!

The airline has revealed that it is now offering two gluten-free meal options and two vegan options for passengers.

Oh, and we're not just talking a sad salad (we've all been there) - there are some pretty decent sounding meals on offer.

For example, gluten free options include a Gluten Free Roast Chicken Dinner complete with roast chicken breast, grilled potatoes, vegetables and gluten-free gravy.

On an early morning? Then you might want to check out the All-Day Gluten Free Breakfast featuring grilled bacon, scrambled egg, rosti potatoes and sautéed mushrooms in a tomato sauce.

As for those following a plant-based diet, you'll also be able to tuck into an All-Day Vegan Breakfast featuring a grilled vegan sausage, rosti potatoes and sautéed mushrooms in a tomato sauce.

Looking for something for dinner or lunch? The Vegan Moroccan Vegetable Tagine with couscous could be just the thing.

It's not the first time the airline has offered a vegan dish - earlier this year it introduced a hearty Penne Arrabbiata pasta that works if you're on a plant based diet.

Passengers who wish to tuck into the meals will need to pre-order them; simply add them as an extra when you are booking, or you can order them post-booking too by amending your optional extras.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: "Customer feedback shows that there is strong demand for vegan and gluten-free options, so we are delighted to be introducing these four delicious meals, giving customers more choice on our award-winning airline.

"We are always looking at ways in which we can develop our offering and VIP customer experience, and we are sure that these new pre-ordered meals will be just as popular as the exciting in-flight menu changes that we have already announced this year."
