Jet2 announces huge expansion for summer 2023

With recent reports flooding in of airport chaos across the country, the last thing that anyone would expect is for an airline to advertise more flights.

But this is just what Jet2 has done, with the budget airline advertising a "major expansion" for Summer 2023. The airline will be offering flights to Malta from Leeds Bradford Airport.

Jet2 has announced that it is responding to "strong demand for flights and holidays" by offering customers a further 57 destinations to fly to. The additional flights will fly from London Stansted, Birmingham and Manchester.

The expansion comes after the company was recognised as Which? Travel Brand of the Year. Sun-seekers will now be able to fly to places such as Sicily, Sardinia and Tivat.

The announcement reads: "Strong demand for flights and ATOL protected package holidays means Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have also expanded their existing programmes to favourites such as the Canary Islands, Mainland Spain, Turkey, Croatia and Greece from the base for Summer 23 too – with more frequent flying to these popular destinations giving holidaymakers and independent travel agents even more choice and flexibility.

"Jet2.comand Jet2holidays have seen continued demand from holidaymakers on the back of international travel returning to normal. The assurance of an ATOL protected package holiday is also proving to be popular with customers, as is booking through a reputable provider that has looked after customers during the pandemic."

The expansion includes an additional 52 destinations flying out from Birmingham, including Sardinia and Sicily; 42 destinations flying out from London Stansted, including Rome and Athens; and 55 destinations flying out from Manchester, including Tivat and Barcelona.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: "Hot on the heels of being recognised as Which? Travel Brand of the Year, we are announcing more award-winning flights and holidays for customers and independent travel agents to choose from.

"The addition of more destinations and extra capacity from three bases comes on the back of enormous demand for our award-winning flights and holidays from Birmingham, London Stansted and Manchester Airports and, as always, we are quick to respond. Summer 23 will see an additional aircraft come into our fleet at each of these bases, meaning local holidaymakers and independent travel agents have even more choice and flexibility.

"The addition of new destinations from Birmingham, London Stansted and Manchester Airports really expands our offering. In addition to flying customers to their favourite holiday destinations from these bases, we continue to have a laser focus on delivering the very best experience so that customers choose us time and time again."
