Jet2 air drama sees flight from Glasgow to Lanzarote diverted to Manchester

A Jet2 flight from Glasgow to Lanzarote has been diverted to Manchester.

Holidaymakers heading to the Spanish tourist hot spot had to turn back just south of Ireland after setting off at 3.41pm today.

The diversion was reported by Twitter account Airport Webcams and by website flightradar24.

The flight path shows the Jet2 plane diverting back to Manchester just south of Ireland (Flightradar24)

They wrote: "Jet2 #LS167 Glasgow to Lanzarote (Boeing 737-800 G-JZBC) turned back South of Ireland and has just diverted to Manchester. Reason not yet known."

The reason why the LS167 flight was diverted is not currently known.

Jet2 have been contacted for comment.
