Jet2 adds Nando's to its in-flight menu in time for summer holidays

It's hard going anywhere in the UK these day without being tempted by a "cheeky" Nando's at every turn.

And now fans of the chicken giant's famous scran will now be able to enjoy it thousands of feet in the air - but there's a catch.

Jet2 today announced that will now serve grub from the high street favourite on their in-flight menu.

However much to fans' dismay, passengers can only choose from two snack options, and neither contain chicken.

You can either buy a bag of Half-Popped Corn or the Nando's box which contains salted pitta chips, houmous and a peri-peri drizzle.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “The addition of these two fantastic snacking options give our customers even more great choice than ever, and mean that we are the first UK airline to offer Nando’s products on our In-Flight menu.

"We have already made a number of exciting changes to our In-Flight menu this year, and we are sure this brand new menu will delight customers even more.

"We pride ourselves on delivering the very best customer service in every area, which was recognised at the recent TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice™ awards for airlines where we won five awards, and we can’t wait for our customers to try the exciting choice on this new menu.”

But not all fans weren't all happy with the announcement.

Commenting on a post on Jet2's Facebook page, Emma Sayce said: "It’s only little peri peri snacks, not proper Nando’s food!"

Matt Felmingham wrote: "Anyone thinking they're going to smash in a chicken can think again it's popcorn or tortillas and dips."

And Joanne Quin commented: "I did see this but it’s not including chicken or spicy rice let down!"

According to reports online, the Nando's box costs £4 with the back of corn £2.
