Jet2 adds Nando's to its in-flight menu and people are very excited

To use the term coined by devotees of the famous chicken brand, you can now enjoy a 'cheeky' Nando's in the air thanks to Jet2.

In a huge airline first, Jet2 has announced take-off on its range of in-flight Nando's options today, Monday, May 13.

There are two Nando's flight bites to choose from. And we're sorry to disappoint but neither actually contain chicken!

The first is a bag of Half-Popped Corn and the second option is the Nando's box, which includes salted pitta chips, houmous and a peri-peri drizzle.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “The addition of these two fantastic snacking options give our customers even more great choice than ever, and mean that we are the first UK airline to offer Nando’s products on our In-Flight menu.

"We have already made a number of exciting changes to our In-Flight menu this year, and we are sure this brand new menu will delight customers even more.

"We pride ourselves on delivering the very best customer service in every area, which was recognised at the recent TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice™ awards for airlines where we won five awards, and we can’t wait for our customers to try the exciting choice on this new menu.”

Within minutes a post about the Nando's menu launch on Jet2's Facebook page gathered hundreds of comments.

One excited Nando's fan reacted "This makes me so happy.. all I need now is a holiday," and tagging their friend, another traveller commented "Looks like we’re travelling with jet2 when we go on holiday."

However, others were slightly let down by the lack of choice...and the lack of chicken.

Someone wrote "don’t get too excited it’s just the dip and pitta," and someone who's already tried one of the options posted "Had one yesterday. Wasn’t great."

According to someone on a recent Jet2 flight, the Nando's box costs £4 with the back of corn £2.
