Jet-setting Newcastle United hoping to continue flying high at SuperCupNI

Jet-setting Newcastle United continue to fly high at this week's SuperCupNI .

The Magpies soared into the Premier final with a 3-0 victory over Co Antrim on Thursday night.

Goals from Dylan Stephenson, Joe White and Lucas de Bolle saw Neil Winskill's side book a final showdown with Spanish side Valencia at the Ballymena Showgrounds on Friday night (8pm).

Some of Winskill's players enjoyed a training camp in Spain recently, and next week a number of his squad will play in a tournament in South Korea.

But the Toon boss insists Northern Ireland remains a favourite destination for the club.

"The SuperCupNI is a brilliant tournament," he said.

"The club have been coming for a lot of years. Personally, it is my first one.

"I have really enjoyed the country, the hospitality, the organisation of the tournament and the opposition.

"It has been played in the right spirit and it is a great experience for our lads.

"Some of them have been on a training camp in Spain already, they have now come to Ireland and some of them are going to South Korea next week for a tournament.

"So we are going round the world, and this is a favourite place of ours."

Newcastle have won all four games during this week's SuperCupNI, scoring 16 goals and conceding just once.

They will be hoping to finish the tournament on a high with victory against Valencia in tonight's Premier final.

"Hopefully we can end the week with a trophy. We always come here with the intention of winning the tournament," Winskill added.

"To get to the final is a huge achievement because we haven't been here for a number of years.

"It is great to be in it and hopefully the lads do themselves justice tomorrow."
