It is believed to be a business jet declared the alert over Wales as it headed towards Bristol and then entered airspace near Bournemouth. It is registered as a Dassault Falcon 20, which are widely used small jet aircraft.

Aviation experts are commenting on the plane, which is alleged to have dropped thousands of feet during flight. Twitter account @OpenSkyAlerts said: "2022-03-24T09:58:10Z - #JAMMER11 is declaring an emergency",

A flight map shows the plane departed Bournemouth Airport around 9.09am and after declaring the emergency returned to the same location, landing at 10.10am, DorsetLive reports. The reason for the emergency is yet to be confirmed.
