Jesy Nelson was reportedly told to 'stay off social media' to avoid trolls and more spats with her former Little Mix bandmates.
The former Little Mix singer - who left the group in December - recently dropped her debut single Boyz to endless backlash.
People were outraged and she was accused of blackfishing as well as appropriating black culture for her own gain.
According to The Sun, she only logs on to Instagram to share quick fan videos before logging back out again.
An insider told the publication: "Jesy never thought things would pan out this way with Boyz but it's made her more determined than ever to get things right and to make her solo career a success."
The source went on to say that Jesy has been targeted by trolls and the aftermath of the Boyz video have 'taken their toll'.
"Bosses have told Jesy to keep offline as much as possible and she's locked herself away in rehearsals with a tight-knit team," they said.
"She is aware of the leaked DM's sent from Leigh-Anne's account but is keeping quiet as no one wants a full-blown Twitter spat."
Mirror have contacted Jesy's reps for comment.
Earlier this month, the publication mentioned that Jesy will be performing Boyz on The Graham Norton Show and had been rehearsing her moves for the performance.
An insider had said: "Graham is a safe pair of hands so she feels comfortable going on the show. After the past week, it's time to bring it back to the music."
After the release of her single, leaked DMs apparently showed her former bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock claiming Jesy blocked the band members.

The screenshot showed Leigh-Anne accusing Jesy of 'blackfishing'. However, it isn't confirmed whether the screenshots are real.
Following the accusations and criticism, Jesy went on Instagram Live with Nicki Minaj - who features on her song.
The Boyz singer was defended by the Chun-Li rapper, who insulted Little Mix during the live.
Nicki said: "Immediately that person has to wear a big red clown nose and big clown boots because you're a big f**ing clown."
She went on: "Sweetheart take them text messages and shove it up ur f**king a**, because when you do clown s**t I gotta treat you and talk to you like you're a clown."
Nicki continued: "It screams insecurity, it screams that you're jealous, only jealous people do things like this and now you just look like a big jealous bozo."
