Jesy Nelson's dancer calls out singer as debut single Boyz hits number one

One of Jesy Nelson 's dancers has appeared to call out the singer for not giving them recognition after her debut single hit number one across the world.

The former Little Mix singer released her debut solo single on Friday October 8 and it quickly shot to number one globally, but one of her dancers has been less than impressed by her support for them.

Oliver-Adam Reynolds took to Twitter to make an apparent dig at the singer.

He wrote in a post on the social media site: "How are you releasing a song called Boyz but not mentioning any of the Boyz who held that video together?!

"What do we have to do as dancers to get the recognition we deserve?!! #JesyNelson #NickiMinaj #Boyz."

The 30-year-old singer shared her hip hop-inspired track Boyz, which channels Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’s 2001 track Bad Boy 4 Life, on Friday at midnight.

The track was co-written by Jesy, who was going through a painful break-up at the time. There is also a verse from rapper Nicki Minaj.

"Being nice a little boring when you in between the sheets. I love bad boys for life," she sings.

Nicki also heaped praised on Jesy, calling her "so bloody sweet".

"Btw, @jesynelson is actually dope IRL!! So bloody sweet love her so much," she wrote on her Instagram story.

Jesy had previously warned that her new track Boyz is either a "love it or hate it" kind of song.

"You're either going to love it or you're going to hate it and I would rather that than people be like, 'Meh, okay,'" she told Noctis XXI magazine.

Jesy quit Little Mix back in 2020 and she recently branded the band as a "machine", as she said she could never switch off and had her life planned out for her.

"I had times and moments when I really loved it, but it felt like there were way more times that I was sad than I was happy," she told the Reign With Josh Smith podcast.

"I don’t think people realise how hard it is to be in a girl band. There’s a lot that comes with it that people don’t know about.

"And obviously I don’t get to make my own decisions. Three people have to agree as well, so there would always be disagreements on certain things."

She added: "Being in Little Mix is literally like a machine. You don’t have any time off. You can’t switch off. Even when you go home, your phone is constantly going off about work and your life is planned out."
