Jesy Nelson could still win Brit Award with Little Mix despite quitting group last year

Jesy Nelson could reportedly still pick up a gong for Little Mix at tomorrow's Brit Awards despite quitting the group.

The singer, 29, has begun working on her solo career after announcing last year that she was leaving the band nine years after they won X Factor.

Since then, it's been reported that she doesn't even want to be mates with Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, never mind work with them again.

And it's said that the remaining trio have been upset about some of the things Jesy has said and the fact that she's started working on her own music so quickly.

Despite no longer being a member of the group, it's thought she could still be handed a gong of they win the British Group category at this year's ceremony.

A source told the Daily Star : "Little Mix are very much a three piece now but if they win the award Jesy will still get sent a statue.

"As per BRIT awards rules every member of the band nominated get an award and she was a member for the time they are nominated for.

"It will no doubt be bitter sweet if Little Mix do win."

Little Mix have been nominated for British Group at the annual ceremony twice before, but they've never won it.

They've had 10 nominations throughout their career and picked up two gongs, for single Shout Out To My Ex in 2017 and for their Woman Like Me video in 2019.

The Mirror has contacted the Brits for comment.

Meanwhile, it's been a whirlwind few days for Little Mix, with Leigh-Anne and Perrie both announcing that they're pregnant with their first child.

Leigh shared the news last week that she was expecting a little one with her fiancé Andre Gray.

And Perrie shared her news today alongside some stunning black and white images of herself and boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

She penned: "So happy to be on this wild journey with my soulmate

"Me + Him = You

"We can’t wait to meet you baby Ox!"

Leigh-Anne told her: "Arghhhhhhhh so so so happy for you both! And so bloody happy we get to go on this journey together! Love you so much"
