Jesy Nelson 'considering career change' after launching debut album

Jesy Nelson is said to be considering branching out into the beauty business.

The former Little Mix star, whose first solo single Boyz debuted at number four in the chart, is reportedly considering following in the footsteps of Rihanna and Harry Styles.

Rihanna has enjoyed huge success with her Fenty Beauty range, while Harry launched his Pleasing brand last year.

And now an insider says Jesy's friends have urged her to move into the cosmetics game as well.

The 31-year-old is thought to be giving it serious thought but will concentrate on her music career for the time being.

A source told The Sun : "Jesy is totally focused on her music at the moment but when that project is finalised people have bandied around the idea of her dipping her toe into the cosmetics market.

"She and her pals have seen the success of Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty and Iman’s cosmetics line and some of those close to her think she could do well by emulating that.

"Jesy’s new music is all about feeling cool and confident, and in the future she could diversify her brand in a way that lets her do that with hair and make-up.”

Jesy, who the source added is well known for her glamorous make-up, has been teasing fans about her upcoming album.

She has not released a full-length album since leaving Little Mix since December 2020 and split from record label Polydor last month.

The two parties were said to have been "going in different directions" as she worked on her debut album.

Confirming the news last month, a spokesperson for Jesy told the Mirror: "[She] feels now is the right for her to move in a new direction. As a result, she has decided to part company with Polydor."

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Polydor added: "Polydor have amicably parted ways with Jesy. We have enjoyed working with her and everyone at the label wishes her nothing but the best for the future."

But Jesy's album is close to completion, according to her social media posts.

She said on Instagram : “Just sat here listening to my album in the car and I’ve cried my eyes out. I’ve never felt more proud, I cannot wait to share it with you guys.

“There’s things I’ve written on there that I’ve never, ever spoken about. I’ve poured my heart and soul into this and I just hope you love it as much as I do.”
