Jesy Nelson has blamed her love of bad boys on her absent father.
The 30-year-old former Little Mix star has admitted that her father being in and out of jail during her childhood has affected the type of men she dates and finds herself in relationships with.
The Boyz hitmaker insisted that when she was growing up, she lacked strong male role models in her life – leading her to choosing the wrong kind of men for her.
"Growing up my dad wasn't around,” Jesy told.
"My dad wasn't the best, he was in and out of prison, so I haven't had many good men role models in my life, so maybe that's where it stems from.
Jesy went on to reveal her lust for ‘naughty’ men.
Although she has dated some really nice guys, including Love Island ’s Chris Hughes, Jesy admitted that when she sees a ‘bad boy’, she can’t help but be drawn to them.
"When I see someone that looks a bit naughty, I am instantly drawn to them, and it's not good,” she told.
"If someone has a gold tooth I literally fall in love,” the singer added.
Since finding fame, Jesy has dated a string of high-profile men from fellow musicians, reality stars, to dancers.
In recent weeks, it’s been reported that the former Little Mix singer is back on with her ex-boyfriend Harry James.
Jesy has also dated Diversity’s Jordan Banjo, Coleen Nolan's son, Jake Roche, TOWIE's Chris Clark, and Love Island’s Chris Hughes.
Last year, Jesy dated Our Girl actor Sean Sagar for a number of months before the pair split amid the pandemic.
And after a string of failed relationships, Jesy has now revealed that she would be open to having a romance with a woman.
Lifting the lid on her romantic life with fellow songstress Nicki Minaj, Jesy said that she would be open to experimenting with girls.
During an explosive Instagram live, Jesy said: “With the way my love life's going I'd be open to it, to be honest.
"My sister is gay and I'd say my sister's the more masculine one in the group and her wife is the more feminine one.
"If I was dating a girl I wouldn't want a girly girl, I'd want more masculine, there aren't many masculine girls though.”
Jesy then turned to her Boyz co-singer Nicki to tell her how ‘sexy’ she thought she was while the pair were filming the music video for her debut solo single.
“You're sexy, even when I was on set with you, I was like 'Jesus Christ this woman is so sexy',” Jesy gushed.
“You ooze sex appeal,” she added.
