Jesy Nelson and Chris Hughes split after 18 months as coronavirus drives them apart

Jesy Nelson and Chris Hughes have split after 18 months of dating.

The couple called it quits while self-isolating in their separate homes amid the coronavirus lockdown, it's claimed.

"Jesy and Chris split up a couple of weeks ago. It was all very amicable and they're still really good friends," an insider told the Sun.

"They had a chat on the phone about their relationship and both agreed that it felt like it had run its course - they're both absolutely fine."

Neither Chris or Jesy have commented on the rumours on social media.

They have been separated by the coronavirus lockdown as the government has advised the public to stay indoors.

Couples who live apart have been advised to either move in together or keep their distance to avoid spreading the deadly bug.

Their rumoured split comes after the release of Little Mix's new track Break Up Song.

The song, which would have been written before the breakup, features the lyrics: "'Cause I'll be good all by myself/Yeah, I'll find a way to dance without you."

Mirror Online has contacted reps for the couple for comment.

Jesy and Chris got together in January 2018 after her split from her ex Harry James the previous November.

Chris' most high profile relationship before Jesy was with his Love Island co-star Olivia Attwood.

He got together with Jesy after they shared a kiss in the window of a kebab shop.

Things quickly got serious, with Chris saying he wanted to marry Jesy as soon as possible.

Jesy had referred to him as "my future husband" on Instagram.

Speaking about their separation, Jesy recently told Australian newspaper The Sunday Telegraph: "Chris isn't with me right now because he is in isolation with his flatmate, so I haven't seen him for a while."

"My love life is fine and dandy," she added.

The last picture she posted of them together was on January 31 after the National Television Awards.
