Jesy Nelson all smiles in stunning selfies after opening up on starving herself

Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson was beaming with joy as she shared a gorgeous Instagram post with fans.

The 29-year-old gave everyone a cheeky smile as she sat on the floor for a couple of mirror selfies.

She recently opened up about her eating disorders with body-positive messages and looks to be happy after leaving the girl group she was part of with Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards.

The beauty donned a black crop top, which showed off her toned abs, as well as high-waisted blue jeans.

She even rocked a blue bandana and simply captioned her post with a black heart emoji.

Jesy, who left Little Mix in 2020 for the sake of her mental health, recently shared a snap of herself in gym attire where she discussed her relationship with her body.

The picture in question had the star lying on the floor in workout clothes with her hand covering her face.

“I just saw this picture pop up on my feed and it made me feel so sad,” she captioned the post.

Jesy recently revealed she went as far as starving herself in a desperate bid to fit into her size 8 clothing (Instagram)

“On the day this picture was taken, I remember going to the gym with my manager and I stood in the mirror and I said, ‘god I’m so fat I just want my legs to be like this’ and I pulled my skin around to try and create a thigh gap because I genuinely believed that being skinny would make me happier.”

Jesy continued: “And even when I got to a size 8 from starving myself, I still wasn’t happy. I mentally bullied myself everyday to try to please other people. It’s taken me 10 years to realise that I’m the only person I need to please.

Jesy has already hinted at her solo career moves after posting a recording studio pic (jesynelson/Instagram)

“As humans we find it so easy to pay other people compliments but yet we find it so hard to be kind to ourselves because it’s so much easier to pick ourselves apart than to find the things we love about ourselves.”

The singer went on to tell people not to ‘waste years’ of their lives ‘seeking approval from others’ and to focus on themselves.

“Be your number one fan. You are the one in control of your happiness and you are the only one of you in this world and that’s pretty fucking powerful!️”
