Jessie Wallace volunteers as a litter picker after her local park is trashed by louts

Jessie Wallace took matters into her own hands as she headed to her local park with pals to clean up the mess that was made at the weekend.

The EastEnders star, 48, has been very vocal about her frustrations with littering throughout the pandemic, and is doing her bit to make her local park in North London a nicer place to visit.

Jessie - who is famed for playing outspoken Kat Slater - and her two pals put blue disposable gloves on and clutched a black bin bag each as they headed to the park to pick up mass amounts of litter.

With her hair up in a messy bun and her face covered with statement shades, Jessie was hard at work helping her community.

Her pal shared a selfie of the trio out in the park, writing: "Another day voluntarily litter picking @Yourallypally with @JessieWallaceUK and @Orlando02141203 #CleanUpUk."

Fans rushed to the comments section to praise the soap star and her pals for their efforts.

One fan wrote: "We need more people like you, well done guys!!"

Another penned: "Well done peeps . Such a good example set .Some people  are as filth as the rubbish they leave."

While a third added: "Well done and great job."

Jessie last month shamed people for littering at a London park during the  coronavirus  lockdown.

Disgusting pictures captured the bin overflowing with beer cans, coke bottles and food rubbish which spilled out onto the manicured green grass.

In a furious tirade, the former soap star branded the people who were littering as "disgusting selfish t***s".

Jessie demanded people took their "rubbish home" with them.
