Jessie Wallace’s half-sister had a life-saving operation and said of her sibling: “She’s really been there for me.”
Danielle Mason, 36, said the soap legend – best known as EastEnders ’ Kat Slater – was a rock as she endured a six-hour operation to remove tumours in her cervix.
She now fears she’ll be unable to have any more children.
Mum-of-two Danielle said: “It’s been awful but Jessie and my family have been there for me. She is always there for me and has been really supportive.”
Danielle went under the knife a fortnight ago at Frimley Park Hospital, Camberley, Surrey, after she was struck down by crippling stomach pain.
She said: “I had to wait five hours to be seen and then the next day I got a scan.
“They said I had large tumours in my cervix.
“I burst into tears because I thought I had cancerous tumours. I thought I was going to die and all I could think of was the children.
“They gave me an emergency operation. One of the cysts was 12 centimetres.
“They had to do a six-hour operation and ended up taking my ovary out.
“But they left one because it’s not good to put a 36-year-old in a menopausal state.”
Danielle, who was in Channel 4’s Big Fat Gypsy Weddings, is planning her wedding to fiancé Tony Giles who has just been released from a jail term for dangerous driving.
The model had a ten-year rift with Jessie, 47, but the pair made up three years ago.
Danielle has two children, Rudy Mason, eight, and Delilah Rose Mason-Giles, six.
Jessie is mum to Talullah, 14.
Jessie and Danielle were at loggerheads after Danielle accused her of turning her back on her stepfather Ron Mason as he battled leukaemia.
In 2014, Danielle reportedly said Jessie’s family were so appalled by her behaviour that they had “washed their hands of her”.
Her dad was in hospital two months later and doctors warned he may not survive to see Christmas.
The pair resolved their feud in 2016 after Ron’s passing.
Last year they spent Easter together, with a source saying they are “closer than ever”.
As she recuperated from her operation at home, Danielle added this week: “We are good friends.”
