Jessie J has hinted that her next single will centre around her relationship with ex-boyfriend Channing Tatum.

The singer-songwriter has announced that her new album, which is yet to be named, will kick off with a personal song about the heartache of a break up.

"The first song is about being in a relationship and someone just dismissing it," she explained Capital FM on Wednesday

"You know, when you go through a breakup and someone is like, 'OK, bye.' "

"One of my favourite songs is about just going for it and jumping in at the deep end," she added when discussing her upcoming fifth studio album.

Although the 33-year-old doesn't mention Channing by name, it could be assumed she is referring to her failed romance with the Hollywood actor.

Jessie and the Magic Mike actor were first linked romantically in October 2018, when the pair were spotted together in Seattle.

The following month, the 41-year-old Hollywood star seen enjoying one of Jessie's concerts with his daughter Everly, whom he co-parents with his ex-wife Jenna Dewan.

Rumours also began about the couple's relationship when the Do it Like a Dude singer was in the audience for Channing's London performance of his Magic Mike Live show.

It was reported that the two stars went their separate ways in November 2019, reuniting briefly by January of the following year.

The pair called it quits for good in April 2020 and both stars appear to have moved on.

Jessie, real name Jessica Cornish, has found love again with new boyfriend, dancer Max Pham Nguyen, while Channing is rumoured to be dating actress Zoe Kravtiz.

Neither Zoe or Channing have confirmed or denied the rumours surrounding their relationship but according to sources, the pair are "inseparable".

Elsewhere in her interview on Wednesday, Jessie also discussed her career and the fear that she is yet to "beat" the success she enjoyed after her first album.

The London-born singer enjoyed huge critical acclaim following the release of her chart-topping debut single, Price Tag, and follow up album, Who You Are, which peaked at number two in the UK in 2011.

Despite continuing to enjoy success in the charts, and on television, the former The Voice coach admitted that she is still trying to top her early career highs.

"I feel like all you try to do is beat your best moment. I am still trying to beat my first album and I am trying to roll with the years and the times," Jessie confessed on Wednesday.

"The whole industry is so different now. I feel like every artist has that moment or that song they are remembered for and I feel like I am still trying to beat my first album."

The singer's last musical release was back in 2018 with her fourth studio album, R.O.S.E.

The record was released as four EPs titled Realisations, Obsessions, Sex, and Empowerment, creating an acronym for "R.O.S.E."
