Jessie Cave’s two-month-old baby Tenn has been admitted to hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.
The Harry Potter actor, who played Lavender Brown, shared an Instagram post on Tuesday explaining that she had watched the prime minister’s lockdown announcement on Monday night from a hospital room.
“I watched the news about lockdown from an isolated room in hospital. Poor baby is covid positive,” she said of her youngest child, who was born on 21 October.
Cave, who also has two older children with her partner, comedian Alfie Brown, said: “He’s okay and doing well but they are being vigilant and cautious, thankfully.
“This strain is super powerful and contagious so I do hope that people take extra care in the coming weeks," she added.
“Really didn’t want this to be the start of my families new year [sic]. Really didn’t want to be back in hospital so soon after his traumatic birth.”
Cave said the experience made her “in awe” of doctors and nurses and she was proud of her brother, who is an A&E doctor, and her father who is an NHS GP.
She also asked fans to “wish baby a speedy recovery”.
The 33-year-old shared the news of Tenn’s birth in another social media post on 22 October 2020, when she said: "Our baby boy was born in the early hours yesterday morning just 40 minutes after my waters were broken.
“Slightly extreme but so were his kicks throughout the pregnancy! This has been a very different experience to my first two births…much more humbling, terrifying and out of my control.”
