Jessica Simpson has shared a photo from her backyard of her view which looks over where the helicopter crashed which took the lives of Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna.

The 39-year-old singer posted a pic of the Calabasas mountains where the helicopter came down, killing nine people.

Along with her husband Eric Johnson, Jessica told her followers that they saw the "emergency helicopters flying over our house and I felt the loss."

She captioned the pic for her five million followers: "Eric took this photo from our backyard right after the accident happened where Kobe, his daughter, and other beautiful souls were lifted up to be with God for eternity.

"We could see the emergency helicopters flying over our house and I felt the loss.

"I felt the power in the sky of the heavens parting to make room for the greatest of angels to rise. My heart is completely broken for all the families and loved ones left behind trying to make sense of things in this tragic moment."

Jessica finished the caption with a message to Kobe's wife: "Vanessa, you are the woman and wife that championed your husband to greatness.

"My prayers are constant for everyone affected by this impactful loss."

Kobe was a NBA legend and the 41-year-old died alongside pilot Ara Zobayan, mother and daughter Sarah and Payton Chester, girls' basketball coach Christina Mauser, college baseball coach Joh Altobelli abd his wife Keri and daughter Alyssa.

They were heading to Kobe's Mamba Sports Academy.

It has been reported that the pilot was told moments before the fatal crash that they were flying too low.

It is believed that the helicopter had decided to turn back as the weather became too difficult to navigate and had reportedly only just cleared a mountain peak before coming down minutes later.

The accident is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
