Jessica Pegula keeps shouting out her Bills owner parents after Australian Open upsets

Jessica Pegula is on to the quarterfinals of the 2021 Australian Open, and if that last name sounds familiar to you, it should.

The pro from Buffalo is the daughter of Terry and Kim Pegula, the owners of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. And down under, she has stormed through the women’s draw, upsetting No. 12-seeded Victoria Azarenka, Samantha Stouser and Kristina Mladenovic. A defeat of No. 5 seed Elina Svitolina put Pegula into the quarters against fellow American Jennifer Brady.

What’s fun is she’s using the signing-the-glass-on-the-camera moment after her wins to shout out the Pegulas back home and to root on the Bills and Sabres.

She also gave a shotout to her upcoming opponent, first rooting her on and then telling Brady she’d see her next:

This is super cool, including for the city of Buffalo and its die-hard sports fans.
