Jessica Naz signs contract extension with Tottenham in huge boost for Rehanne Skinner

Jessica Naz has put pen-to-paper on a two-and-a-half-year contract extension with Tottenham Hotspur that sees the forward remain at the club until June 2025.

The 22-year-old rejoined Spurs in 2018 from Arsenal after rising through the youth ranks and played a critical role in Spurs’ promotion to the top-flight during the 2018/19 season.

Naz has gone on to make 66 senior appearances across all competitions, registering 10 goals in the process. In 2022, the England under-23s international made history by winning Young Player of the Year at the London Football Awards, the first Spurs Women’s player to claim the prize. Naz was a regular starter in Spurs’ best-ever WSL season in which the club finished fifth in the table.

This season, Naz has struggled to maintain her starting berth, with five of her 11 appearances this season coming off the bench and having yet to feature since the 3-0 loss to Everton in the WSL before the winter break.

Naz remained an unused substitute in the 3-1 fourth round FA WSL Cup loss to Chelsea while she was not in the squad for Spurs’ most recent 5-0 win over Championship side London City Lionesses in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

With the arrival of Beth England in January, Naz’s competition for consistent game time will only increase as Spurs bid to reclaim their fifth-place berth from last season. Rehanne Skinner's side currently sit eighth in the WSL table, six points behind seventh-placed West Ham but with two games in hand.

Spurs return to action on Saturday when they welcome reigning champions Chelsea to Brisbane Road at 12:30.
