Jessica Mulroney sets record straight on Meghan Markle friendship before deleting post

Jessica Mulroney has set the record straight on her friendship with Meghan Markle amid rumours of a falling out.

The Canadian stylist posted a statement on Instagram, which has since been deleted, calling Meghan "family" and "the kindest friend".

The 40-year-old wrote: “I’m going to tell this once and for all. Meghan and I are family. She is the kindest friend and has checked up on me everyday.

“Tabloid culture is atrocious. It creates lies and hurtful storyline. Stop feeding into it. Done.”

Meghan and Jessica became best friends after they met in Toronto when the royal was filming Suits.

Jessica's children also took part in the Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry, with her daughter Ivy being bridesmaid and her twin sons John and Brian serving as page boys.

Last month Jessica uploaded a picture from the wedding only to delete it days later.

She captioned the picture of her son and Meghan: “When I feel dark and grey, I see this and it all goes away." But she later amended it to "I see this and pure joy."

It had been claimed the best friends fell out after Jessica was accused by influencer Sasha Exeter of abusing her white privilege.

Sasha said Jessica had taken "offence" to her call for bloggers and social media stars to speak out in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The former athlete claimed Jessica had sent her a message which seemingly threatened to destroy her career.

Sasha, who has more than 82,000 Instagram followers, said it was an example of "textbook white privilege".

She said: "Listen, I am by no means calling Jess a racist but what I will say is this, she is very well aware of her wealth, her perceived power and privilege because of the color of her skin. And that, my friends, gave her the momentary confidence to come for my livelihood in writing."

After she went public with the message, Jessica issued an apology, which she posted on Sasha's Instagram page.

But the influencer later claimed that Jessica had issued another threat to her in a private message, in which Jessica threatened to take her to court over the row.

She posted an apology on her own Instagram page, admitting Sasha "rightfully called me out for not doing enough when it came to engaging in the important and difficult conversation around race."
