Jessica Jones season 3: Netflix announces release date and reveals first trailer

Netflix has announced the release date for Jessica Jones’s third season.

The series, which will be the last collaboration between Marvel and Netflix, will reach the streaming service on the 14 June.

The announcement was made in a cryptic trailer that shows barely any footage from the forthcoming season.

Instead, we get the eponymous superhero – played by Krysten Ritter – looking particularly nervous in her apartment.

Seconds later and a flash of images appear on screen, including a fleeting look at a new psychopath for Jessica to fight.

The villain appears to be played by Jeremy Bobb (Russian Doll), though the character the actor will be playing has not been confirmed.

The official synopses reads: “When Jessica (Krysten Ritter) crosses paths with a highly intelligent psychopath, she and Trish (Rachael Taylor) must repair their fractured relationship and team up to take him down.

“But a devastating loss reveals their conflicting ideas of heroism and sets them on a collision course that will forever change them both.”

Jessica Jones marks the end of Marvel and Netflix’s long-lasting collaboration, which has also included three seasons of Daredevil; two seasons of Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Punisher; and a season of The Defenders. Read more about the two companies’ split here.
