Jessica Harrington enjoys 695/1 treble at Naas as she watches horse racing from home

Jessica Harrington landed a 695/1 treble from her home on Monday as horse racing returned in Ireland.

Naas hosted the first Irish meeting since March yesterday, but Harrington was unable to attend due to over 70s not being allowed at behind-closed-doors racedays as part of the new protocols due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Lucky Vega (9/2) got the first win on the board for the Kildare trainer before further victories for Punita Arora (22/1) and Masteroffoxhounds (9/2).

Harrington's daughter Kate was present at Naas to watch the action and hailed yesterday as "a great day".

Speaking after Masteroffoxhounds' victory in the last race contest of the day, she said: "This horse was meant to go to China, but because of coronavirus couldn't go and we have reaped the benefit of it.

"He's a nice horse and we haven't had him that long as he was in quarantine and Conor Hoban did a bit of pre-training with him. He's been with us about six weeks and fair play to Conor.

"It's been a great day and hopefully we can keep it going. We thought we had a nice group of horses and it's really exciting."

The Harrington team have a big few days coming up with Albigna currently the 7/4 favourite for the Irish 1000 Guineas on Saturday.

Horse racing action continues at Leopardstown today, with the first race going to post at 1pm.
