Jessica Chastain to make West End debut in Jamie Lloyd's production of A Doll's House

Jessica Chastain is set to make her West End debut in Jamie Lloyd’s new production of A Doll’s House.

The Academy Award-nominated actress will take on the role of Nora Helmer in the 1996 version of Henrik Ibsen’s play adapted by Frank McGuinness.

This is the second production to be announced in director Lloyd’s upcoming season at the Playhouse Theatre. Chastain’s IT Chapter Two co-star James McAvoy will open the season as the star in Cyrano de Bergerac.

Chastain, who is best known for performances in films such as Zero Dark Thirty, The Help and Interstellar, made her last stage appearance in Henry James’s The Heiress on Broadway in 2012.

There will be 15,000 free tickets across the new season for first time theatre-goers, and a further 15,000 tickets at £15 for key workers, under-30s and those on job seeker’s allowance and other government benefits.

A Doll’s House will run from June 10 to September 5 2020. Tickets will go on sale in January at thejamielloydcompany.com
