Jessica Campbell has died suddenly at the age of 38.
The Election star died unexpectedly last month, her family has told TMZ.
The actress, who played Tammy Metzler in the 1999 movie, died in Portland.
A full autopsy examination has been carried out by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner but her family is still waiting on the results.
Her cousin Sarah Wessling said Jessica had worked a normal day seeing patients at her practice and had returned home to visit her mother and aunt on the day she died.
The former actress was working as a naturopathic physician.
Sarah says that after returning home, Jessica went to the bathroom but never came out.
Her aunt went to check on her and found her collapsed on the floor.
It's reported the aunt tried to revive her but sadly couldn't, and neither could the EMTs when they arrived.
The family said Jessica had been complaining of congestion and felt like she was getting a cold, however they do not believe it was Covid-19.
The autopsy results are expected to come back soon.
Jessica is best known for starring in Election alongside Reese Witherspoon, Matthew Broderick and Chris Klein, whose younger sister she played in the movie.
Her performance saw her nominated for Best Debut Performance at the Independent Spirit Awards.
She went on to be a guest star on popular TV series Freaks and Geeks, as well as star in films The Safety of Objects and Junk before she gave up acting.
Jessica leaves behind her 10-year-old son Oliver.
A GoFundMe page was set up to raise funds to help with expenses and to provide for her little boy.
More than $22,000 has been donated at the time of writing, including a $5,000 donation by Freaks and Geeks executive producer Judd Apatow.
The family said that Jessica has been cremated and they are planning a memorial for her.
