Jesse Marsch makes 'best in the world' Erling Haaland call following his move to Man City
Jesse Marsch believes Erling Haaland will become one of the best players in the world after the Norwegian striker completed his move to Manchester City,
The reigning Premier League champions announced on Tuesday that they had agreed a deal for the 21-year-old. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain were just two of the clubs tipped to make a move for the prolific Borussia Dortmund striker, but he's opted for the Premier League and will join Pep Guardiola's side in the summer.
His arrival marks the end of City's protracted pursuit of a replacement for Sergio Aguero. Harry Kane had been a target for City but they couldn't reach an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur, though Marsch believes they've secured the services of a player who'll go on to become one of the best in the world.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah (he will fit in). Erling Haaland is destined to be one of the best players in the world, it's his quality but it's also his talent. I wish he was coming back home here to Leeds - this is his birthplace," Marsch told reporters.
"But I understand the decision for him to go to Man City, it'll be interesting. He's an explosive player in transition and Man City often plays in possession, he can play any style of play but certainly, I believe he makes Man City, the best team in the world, even better.
"Credit to them for getting that done. I always wish the best for Erling, he's an incredible human being."
