The brother of Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has spoken out on social media, amid rumours regarding his future.
Lingard, now 28, sees his contract at Old Trafford expire in June 2022. And with game time again limited under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, we could perhaps see the United academy graduate seek pastures new.
It is no secret how much West Ham admire Lingard, as his superb loan spell last season helped the Hammers achieve European qualification for the first time since 2017.
So with Lingard's United future hanging in the balance, his brother has taken to Instagram recently to shine some light on the current circulating rumours.
Louie Scott, Lingard’s brother and agent — who can be seen replying to a post from a West Ham (above) — has certainly put the cat among the pigeons, indicating in another comment that ''its always been out of our hands" regarding a return to the London Stadium.
Lingard, who is yet to start a Premier League game this season did net the late winner back in September for United against West Ham.
Although David Moyes' side would seem to be an obvious choice for the Warrington-born star, the door could be open for a move elsewhere too should he choose not to renew with United, ending his 21-year affinity with the club.
Brother Louie, also replied to another question added later on in the post stating: ''Why would he go out of his way to prove to fans that don't want him? Zero logic bud.''
Lingard could feature for United in their first game after the international break, away at Watford on Saturday, having stayed at the club's training base over the past two weeks to hone his game.
