Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial hand Man Utd double injury blow before key February fixture run

Manchester United could be without Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial for their key run of February fixtures after both players were injured during their Champions League clash with PSG.

Lingard pulled up off the ball after playing a cross-field pass, and despite initially returning to the field of play, was replaced by Alexis Sanchez during first-half stoppage time.

The fact that United did not even wait to assess Lingard in the dressing room during the interval before making the change will spark fears that the 26-year-old could be set for a spell on the sidelines.

Martial, meanwhile, was injured earlier during the game - the French forward managed to carry on until half-time, but was then replaced for Juan Mata.

Injuries to two key forwards would be a huge blow to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, who face Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round next Monday, before hosting rivals Liverpool in the Premier League on February 24.

If Lingard's injury turns out to be more serious, he could also miss a similarly tricky run in March, when United meet PSG again, followed by league fixtures against Arsenal and Manchester City.
