Jesse James contract details with the Lions emerge

Jesse James will earn a pretty penny to join the Detroit Lions. Quite a few pennies, in fact.

According to Ian Rapoport from the NFL Network, James will earn $25 million over his 4-year contract with Detroit. The Lions will pay the former Steelers TE some $11 million in guaranteed cash.

The figures will not be official or finalized until the free agent signing period commences on Wednesday afternoon.

James caught 30 passes and scored 2 TDs for Pittsburgh last season, his fourth in the NFL. His career-high 427 yards showed more ability down the field than he had shown before.
