Jess Glynne in Swansea review: Hold My Hand singer goes down a storm at Singleton Park

Pop fans have been spoiled in Wales of late - Pink, Elton John and the Spice Girls have all dazzled massive crowds in the past few weeks.

But the big question was could Jess Glynne follow suit - especially after her vocal troubles forced her to cancel a string of shows.

All eyes and ears were on the Hold My Hand singer and there was a nervous excitement among the 12,000 crowd ahead of the show.

But before the main event, it was Scottish-born singer Nina Nesbitt's chance to warm up the crowd. The singer, who is the ex-girlfriend of Ed Sheeran, and muse behind his song Nina, treated fans to her hits Stay Out and Girlfriend and looked perfectly confident entertaining a crowd of 12,000. Expect big things from her in the future.

And so to Jess Glynne. The site of the her fiery red hair erupting on stage before those mighty vocals followed prompted a collective sigh of relief as well as plenty of smiles and dancing too.

The show was charged emotion too - Glynne ended up crying with emotion after her Welsh fans belted Take Me Home.

"You don't understand what it's like to hear a crowd singing it," she said. "I am not bullsh***ng, this is one of my favourite gigs ever."

With three number ones under her belt, the 29-year-old had a bounty of hits to choose from - especially modern pop classics like Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself and All I Am.

The upbeat tunes were made even better by the glorious summer weather - ramping up the feel good factor in the process.

After closing the show with I'll Be There, from her latest album Always In Between, Glynne had pulled off an amazing performance.

Fresh from supporting the Spice Girls, the London born chart-topper proved that not only is she a talented vocalist but also a world class entertainer too.

This surely won't be the last time she plays a show of this size -  the girl was on fire.
