Jessie Eisenberg attended San Diego’s massive Comic-Con convention over the weekend to tout his role as the villain Lex Luthor in the upcoming blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Unfortunately for the Academy Award nominee, the experience was not a pleasant one.

“It is like being screamed at by thousands of people,” he said of Comic-Con on Monday. The actor then offered the following assessment: “I don’t know what the experience is throughout history, probably some kind of genocide. I can’t think of anything that’s equivalent.”

Eisenberg spoke of his experience to the Associated Press, while doing red carpet press for the Los Angeles premiere of his latest release, The End of the Tour. In the film by James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now), Eisenberg plays journalist David Lipsky, who profiled acclaimed author David Foster Wallace – played in the film by Jason Segel – shortly following the publication of Wallace’s hugely successful novel, Infinite Jest.
