Jess Wright marks five years since Nanny Pat died with heartbreaking tribute

Jess Wright has penned an emotional tribute to Nanny Pat, marking five years since she passed away.

Fan favourite Pat, grandma to Mark Wright and Jessica and mum to Carol, died in 2015 at the age of 80.

The Only Way Is Essex ’s Jessica, who was one of Pat’s 14 grandchildren, was left devastated by her Nan’s passing and is still feeling the heartbreak of her grief five years on.

Taking to her Instagram on Wednesday, she paid tribute in a touching and emotional post.

Sharing a snap of herself smiling alongside her late grandmother, Jessica admitted she couldn’t believe it had been five years since Pat’s death.

The 35-year-old wrote: “5 years ago today, heaven gained an angel.

“I can’t quite believe it’s been 5 whole years. This day I lost one of my best friends & it hurt like hell. Miss you nan, love you.

“On that note, my heart goes out to anyone without their loved ones this Christmas, it’s been a tough year, hold on its nearly over.”

The much-adored star celebrated her 80th birthday on the ITVBe reality show weeks before her death, enjoying a royal wedding themed birthday bash in Surrey in November 2015.

She died on December 16, 2015 after a short illness.

A spokesperson released a statement at the time of her death, which read: “Sadly our amazing, courageous and beautiful Nanny Pat passed away this morning after a short illness.

“We are overwhelmed by sadness, and the whole family ask for privacy at this horrible time.”

TOWIE recently paid tribute to Nanny Pat in their TOWIE Turns 10: All Back To Essex special.

They replayed the touching moment Jessica sang her nan’s favourite song, Make You Feel my Love by Adele, during her glam 80th birthday celebrations, after fans voted it as the show's most emotional moment.

During her five year stint on the show, Nanny Pat - Pat Brooker - became renowned for her legendary wit and one liners.
