Jess Glynne in Swansea: Road closures, stage times, support act and everything else you need to know

The wait is almost over as Jess Glynne will be returning to Swansea to play a massive open-air show.

The show on  Sunday, July 28  will see Jess return to Singleton park where she performed for Swansea's Biggest Weekend last year.

12,000 people are expected to attend the gig.

Here's everything you need to know about the concert.

What time does the show start?

We don't have definite times of the running order yet but the doors for the gig open at 4pm.

Who's the support act?

Nina Nesbitt will be supporting Jess (Daily Record)

Scottish indie-pop star Nina Nesbitt will be supporting Jess Glynne.

Starting out as an independent artist, her smart, straight-talking lyrics and catchy pop hooks earned Nina Nesbitt a top 20 album in 2013 with Peroxide.

After catching the attention of Island Records. She then focused on writing for acts such as Jessie Ware, The Shires, Sigala, Jonas Blue and more.

What are the road closures?

There will be a number of road closures and diversions  in place.

The following roads will be closed:

  • De La Beche Road  and  Gower Road  (between De La Beche Road and Eversley Road) will be a no parking area for it’s entire length from 10am on Saturday, July 27 to 2am, Monday 29th July
  • Brynmill Lane between Oystermouth Road  to  Bryn Road Roundabout  will be closed to traffic from 12PM on Saturday, July 27 to 2am Sunday July 28.
  • Mumbles Road  (between Sketty Lane and Gorse Lane) and  Gower Road  (between Eversley Road and De La Beche Road) will be closed from approximately 10pm to 11.45pm on Saturday, 27 and Sunday July 28

     

Diversion signs will be set up to assist traffic flows in the area but it is expected to be very busy, particularly at the times when the concerts end.

Where should I park?

Recreation Ground (Yellow Car Park)

It's approximately 800m to walk to the venue.

Cost:   £10 (plus booking fee)

Postcode: SA2 0AU

Parking time: Open from 12pm.

Singleton Hospital (Red Car Park)

This car park is a reasonable walk from the arena and is outside any planned road closure areas. It's approximately 1400m away.

Cost: £10 (plus booking fee)

Postcode: SA2 8QG

Parking time: Open from 12pm

Bishop Gore School  (Blue Car Park)

It's approximately 150m to walk to the venue.

Cost: £10 (plus booking fee)

Postcode: SA2 9AP

Parking time: Open from 10am

Public transport information

Bus:

Buses operate from Swansea City Centre and various other locations to Singleton Park.

Bus stops are located near both the Gower Road, Sketty Lane and Oystermouth Road entrances to Singleton Park.

At the end of the evening shuttle buses will operate between Oystermouth Road (St Helens Ground) and Swansea City Centre.

Train:

The nearest railway station to Singleton Park is Swansea High Street which is approximately 2 miles away. A taxi rank is situated outside the station.

Taxi:

A taxi journey from the train station to Singleton Park will cost approximately £8, although please bear in mind that busy traffic / slow journeys will increase the price.
