Jess Fishlock joins illustrious group as she picks up Champions League winners medal

Jess Fishlock has become just the sixth Welsh footballer and second woman to win the Champions League after her Lyon side defeated Barcelona 4-1 in Budapest.

The Wales international joins the illustrious group of Joey Jones, Ian Rush, Ryan Giggs, Gareth Bale and current Wales women's manager Jayne Ludlow in winning a European cup after a one-sided final that saw Norwegian Ballon d'Or Feminin winner Ada Hegerberg secure victory with an historic hat-trick.

Fishlock joined the French outfit on loan from Seattle Reign last year - adding the French title to trophies won in the United States, Australia, Germany and the Netherlands.

And now the 32-year-old has added the Champions League to her impressive collection of winners medals.

Lyon had raced into a 4-0 half-time lead thanks to Dzsenifer Marozsan's opener and Hegerberg's hat-trick - with Asisat Oshoala pulling back a late consolation.
