Record-breaking Jess Breach scored two more tries in the women’s Six Nations on Saturday as England completed the Grand Slam by crushing Scotland 80-0 at Twickenham Stadium.

The 21-year-old winger has scored nine tries in the tournament – and has touched down an extraordinary 20 times in her seven test appearances.

England had too much power and pace for their opponents and scored 12 tries in all, the win over the Scots following thumping bonus-point successes over Ireland, Wales and Italy.

They also beat reigning champions France 41-26 in their toughest match. France, in second place with 16 points to England’s unassailable 28, play their final game against Italy on Sunday.

Breach, who claimed six tries on her international debut against Canada, crossed in the sixth minute, latching on to a fine cross-kick by flyhalf Katy Daley-Mclean.

She added her second in the 17th minute following a through-kick by centre Emily Scarratt after the Scots lost possession near the halfway line.

The match followed the same pattern during the early stages as the men’s game earlier on Saturday, England racing into a 45-0 lead by halftime.

But coach Simon Middleton’s side did not let up after the break, leaving Scotland without a single point during the tournament.

Scarratt, who also scored a try, was named player of the match.

England have won the women’s Six Nations 15 times, as well as 14 Grand Slams. Their 2019 success followed the Rugby Football Union’s move to award their squad with professional deals, making them the first union to do so in the 15-a-side format.
