Jerry Jones tries to compare Cowboys’ QB situation to Broncos’ Kendall Hinton emergency

It’s been a rough year in Jerryworld.

The Dallas Cowboys are a complete mess, and it’s led to some notable Jerry Jones moments in 2020, from snapping in interviews to becoming a meme whenever he’s shown on screen during losses.

On Tuesday, there was another one to add to the list: while speaking to 105.3 The Fan, Jones claimed that the Denver Broncos being forced to start practice squad wide receiver Kendall Hinton at QB compares to the Cowboys starting Ben DiNucci back in Week 8.

Specifically: “I don’t know that Denver had any more challenge than we did with (rookie seventh-rounder Ben) DiNucci or young quarterbacks we’ve had.”

Ehhh, I don’t think so.

DiNucci had spent the year in the quarterbacks room with the likes of Dak Prescott and Andy Dalton before he was forced into a starting job for one game in which he struggled. He had also just come off of a year in which he led James Madison to an FCS title game loss to North Dakota State as a quarterback.

Hinton last played quarterback in 2018. In 2019, he became a wideout for Wake Forest before he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Broncos — again, as a receiver — and was pressed into action from the practice squad just days before he played against the New Orleans Saints.

Nope, not the same, Jerry.
