Jerry Jeudy injury: Broncos WR expected to miss 4-6 weeks

Denver Broncos second-year wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a high ankle sprain, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Jeudy suffered the injury during Sunday’s 27-13 win over the New York Giants in Week 1. The receiver posted a positive message on his Instagram page on Monday, writing: “I’ll be back soon 😈.”

The Broncos will likely place Jeudy on injured reserve with a designation to return, which will free up a spot on the 53-man roster. Denver has four receivers on the practice squad (Tyrie Cleveland, Seth Williams, Kendall Hinton and De’Mornay Pierson-El) — one of them will likely be promoted to the active roster this week.

While Jeudy is sidelined, Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick and KJ Hamler will be the Broncos’ top three receivers. Diontae Spencer is also on the active roster, but he’s primarily a return specialist.

In fantasy football, Patrick will likely be a hot target on the waiver wire this week. Patrick caught four passes for 39 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. Last year, while filling in for an injured Sutton, Patrick caught 51 passes for 742 yards and scored six touchdowns.

Elsewhere on the injury front for Denver: cornerback Michael Ojemudia (hamstring) and running back Mike Boone (quad) are eligible to return from injured reserve in Week 4.
