Jermaine Whitehead goes on profanity-laced tirade on Twitter following loss

Cleveland Browns safety Jermaine Whitehead did not have a good game in the team’s Week 9 loss in Denver to the Broncos. He badly missed a tackle on Denver’s first touchdown and struggled throughout the game.

It got worse for Whitehead after the game. While he was still in uniform in the locker room, the safety went on a profane tirade on Twitter, threatening overt violence against some critics who pointed out his issues in the game. The account is not verified but it appears to be Whitehead’s own, based on prior Twitter activity.

The tweets have since been deleted. In fact, Whitehead’s account was suspended by Twitter. But the threats and ugliness live on in screenshots.

Some of the offending tweets (you’ll need to click, they’re not printable here):

Threat to fan

Threat to media

There are more, believe it or not, but that gives you an idea of the severity of the situation before Whitehead was forced to stop.

The league will certainly react to this. The Browns should be expected to address it sternly as well.
