Jermaine Jenas has praised Tottenham's character after their comeback victory against Southampton in the FA Cup fourth-round replay on Wednesday.
A Jack Stephens own goal opened the score for the hosts but Southampton rallied from behind, equalising through Shane Long before Danny Ings gave the Saints the lead in the 72nd minute.
However, Lucas Moura equalised just six minutes later and extra time was avoided following Son Heung-Min's penalty a few minutes before the final whistle.
While it was not the best performance from Jose Mourinho's side, Jenas identified the character that Spurs showed after responding to falling behind.
"It was one of those games for Spurs where actually, a bit like against Manchester City at the weekend, it was all about characters and how deep they could dig," he told BT Sport.
"Eventually, I'd say in that final 25 minutes when they went 2-1 down it was like they had a look at each other and said 'you know what, let's start playing some football and taking a few more risks'.
"They got their rewards from that. Son worked his socks off, Lucas Moura worked his socks off and the team were kind of galvanised by that goal, the penalty comes at a perfect time.
"Two absolute massive results against two really good teams, especially Southampton today coming here and putting on a really good show."
Tottenham will face Norwich City in the fifth round next March, with the Canaries travelling to North London to compete for a spot in the quarter-finals of the competition.
