Jermaine Jenas believes Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be pleased about how his players won the game against West Ham.
The Gunners looked to be heading towards a point in the London derby at the Emirates Stadium after Michail Antonio cancelled out Alexandre Lacazette's opener for Arsenal in north London.
But with time running out, substitute Eddie Nketiah popped up with the winner for Arteta's side, slotting the ball home after Dani Ceballos got in behind the West Ham defence to lay on the assist for the striker.
And former Tottenham midfielder Jenas feels that the fact his players found a way to break down the Hammers amid stubborn resistance in the second half will be particularly pleasing for Arteta.
“It wasn’t a brilliant Arsenal performance but down this left-hand side, we know [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang makes these runs but if it wasn’t him, it’s someone else and it cost West Ham," Jenas said, speaking on Match of the Day.
"For Arsenal to not play great but spot the weak spot was a plus point for Mikel Arteta.
"There was a lot of good stuff down that left-hand-side."
Arteta admitted as much after the game as he said he was pleased with the three points, but said himself that there was still room for improvement from his side.
"Yes, but I think we were a little bit lucky in certain moments for sure.
"But as well, we find a way to win it and it's the mentality I want that the team always believes that we can do it up until the last moment.
"Even if we have difficult games when we suffer, we make it difficult for ourselves in certain periods, but in the end it's three points. This is why we are here. As well, take some big notes because there are a lot of things to improve."
