Jermaine Jenas names the two players who 'completely ran the show' for Chelsea vs Burnley

Chelsea tore Burnley apart at Turf Moor on Saturday.

The Clarets had a number of good chances to score but the Blues' attacking prowess shone through on the night, with Christian Pulisic scoring a hat-trick and Willian grabbing another.

It looked like it was going to be a routine 4-0 win for Frank Lampard's side, but two late goals from Jay Rodriguez and Dwight McNeil took a little bit off the gloss of the result for Chelsea.

Frank Lampard's young side were at their brilliant best going forward, however, and while American Pulisic will take all the plaudits, and the man of the match award for his perfect hat-trick, former Spurs man Jermaine Jenas believes there were two other players worthy of glowing terms.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Jenas said: "They completely ran the show (Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic).

"They dictated the pace of the game, when they were going to attack, when they were going to slow it down. Simple little passes that take three players out of the game.

"They were both in the hundreds in terms of passes made and touches, 90% in terms of accuracy of the passes and it was the regaining of the passes that was big as well, they passed the ball to each other more than any midfield pairing this season.

"They just really had a huge impact on this game in particular. Kovacic is a top player and I think under [Maurizio] Sarri maybe he didn’t really show he had the ability and I think Frank has given him a little bit more freedom and the pair of them looked like the real mature heads in that team, they were fantastic."
